The Reason Makes Me Want To Hang Out at Starbucks Dewata Bali

When I heard information from a friend, he said a Starbucks outlet in Bali had just opened, located on Sunset Road Kuta Bali. He said the new Starbucks outlet is elegant and now become a Hype. Honestly, I’m not too interested in visiting the latest Starbucks outlet in Bali. Due to my assumptions, the new Starbucks outlet is similar to other Starbucks outlets in Bali.

I then conveyed to the reservation employees who received bookings for Bali water sports and white water rafting activities in Bali. A new Starbucks outlet is open on Sunset Road, Kuta Bali. My goal is to convey to the reservation employees so that they get updated information about hangout places in Bali that our customers often ask for.

However, I did not expect our reservation employee to know about Starbucks Dewata Bali. They also said many of our customers reserved water sports activities in Tanjung Benoa Beach and Telaga Waja rafting tour. After the event, customers requested to be escorted to the Starbucks Reserve Bali, not their hotel location.

All the information I got from the reservation employees made me curious. I am also curious about the difference between the Starbucks Reserve Dewata and other Starbucks outlets on the island of Bali. I should visit Starbucks Dewata Reserve Bali to answer questions about the differences between Starbucks Reserve Dewata and regular Starbucks outlets.

Location of Starbucks Dewata Coffee Sanctuary in Bali

The location of Starbucks Dewata Coffee Sanctuary is on Jalan Sunset Road No.77, Seminyak, Kuta-Bali. Also, the location of Starbucks Dewata is very strategic because it is close to several famous Bali tourist attractions. Like Kuta Beach Bali, Legian Beach Bali, and Petitenget Beach in Seminyak.

If you depart from Kuta Beach Bali or Legian Beach Bali, head to Starbucks Dewata Coffee. Then, it will cover a distance of about 5 kilometers with an estimated travel time of 25 minutes. However, if you depart from the Petitenget Beach Seminyak towards the Starbucks Dewata Coffee location, it will cover a distance of 7 kilometers with an estimated travel time of 30 minutes.

You must wonder why the distance is so close, but the travel time is extended. The Kuta, Legian, and Seminyak areas are the centers of holiday attractions in southern Bali. So, Kuta Beach, Legian Beach, and Seminyak areas are crowded with tourist visits and local community activities. These make road congestion in the Kuta, Legian, and Seminyak areas often encountered. If you don’t like driving in traffic jams, I recommend getting a car rental in Bali with a driver.

My Experience Hanging Out at The Starbucks Reserve Dewata

I also conveyed to my wife regarding the newest Starbucks outlet in Bali. My wife was equally curious as me. We left for the Starbucks Reserve Bali with our children that same day. When we arrived at the Starbucks Dewata Reserve location, I saw many cars taking the nearest parking space from the main gate. It turns out many people are also curious about Starbucks Dewata Bali.

For your information, I do not have any affiliation with Starbucks Dewata Reserve, which makes me write this article. My primary goal in writing is to provide the latest hangout spot in Bali to our Bali water sports customers. Main Gate – Biggest Starbucks in Bali

The first thing that distinguishes Starbucks Dewata Bali from Starbucks outlets, in general, is the staff who welcome customers and show customers the main entrance door at Starbucks Reserve Bali outlets. My first impression when I entered Starbucks Bali Reserve was that it felt like a luxury hotel and did not feel like accessing a Starbucks store.

I also feel like I will get a new experience when visiting Starbucks Bali Reserve, which is true! I gained a lot of new knowledge about coffee in Indonesia. Here is my experience hanging out at the Bali Starbucks Reserve with my family.

What’s the Difference Between Regular Starbucks Outlets and Starbucks Dewata Reserve?

Out of curiosity, I asked the welcoming staff at the entrance door. Sir, what is the main difference between Starbucks Dewata Reserve and other Starbucks outlets in Bali?

The staff answered. “Starbucks Reserve Dewata Bali is the only Starbucks outlet in the world with a coffee plantation inside, like the ones you see now. Moreover, the coffee plantation is the first thing visitors see when they enter the Bali Starbucks Dewata Reserve area. The area of the coffee plantation is around 100 square feet (93 square meters). Therefore, our outlet is named Starbucks Dewata Coffee Sanctuary. Also, Starbucks Reserve Dewata Bali is the largest Starbucks outlet in Southeast Asia.

I also asked the Starbucks staff. If I want to order a coffee menu usually available at regular Starbucks outlets, is it also available at the Starbucks Reserve Dewata? ” Yes, it’s available, sir; you can find it in the Core Bar, which is located at the front of the souvenir display.”

When Does It Open & What Concept Customers Get?

“The new Starbucks Dewata Coffee Sanctuary opened on January 12, 2019. The Starbucks Dewata Coffee Sanctuary outlet has a concept of more than just a coffee shop. Because visitors will get basic knowledge about the process of making coffee and the origin of the coffee, also, visitors will get the best experience of drinking coffee they have ever had”. Coffee Shop with Interactive Display

I also asked the staff again, Could I walk around in the inner area first, after that, I ordered coffee. Yes, you can, he replied.

New Logo

Starbucks Reserve Dewata uses a different logo shaped like a lotus flower. The New Starbucks Dewata logo is at the entrance and concierge reception.

Large Size Painting

Behind the coffee plantation area, you will see a painting of enormous size. In the picture, I saw a woman coffee farmer picking fruit from a tree. I don’t know what type of fruit is on the images.

Then, I saw an area displaying information about processing coffee, from seeds to powder. On the floor area, I saw many dried coffee beans, which were still raw and not yet roasted.

Starbucks Reserve Bar

In the middle of Starbucks Dewata Coffee Sanctuary, I saw an area with a detailed design that reflected the island of Bali. At the top of the Reserve bar is a sizeable woven bamboo, made with a gorgeous design, and I see it as the design of a wasp house. Also, I noticed the reserve bar table counter is designed with layers that resemble multilevel. Maybe they want to show an impressive view of terraced rice fields in Tegalalang Ubud.

I also saw a massive size of wood carvings. Wood carvings are taped to the wall near the stairs to the second floor. According to the website of dewata.starbucks.co.id, large wood carvings have a height of 30 feet or about 2.8 meters.

For the coffee menu at the Reserve bar, you won’t find it at Starbucks outlets in general. However, it is available at Starbucks Reserve elsewhere. Also, the choice of the coffee beans origin to be used all depends on the theme displayed on the day of your visits, such as coffee beans from Toraja, coffee beans from West Java, coffee from Bali, and many more coffee beans from other regions in Indonesia.

Core Bar

To the left of the entryway, there is a Core Bar. The Core Bar is where you order the regular Starbucks menu that you usually find at Starbucks outlets. In front of the Core Bar, there is a souvenir display area. I have never seen a souvenir design display on Starbucks Dewata at other regular Starbucks outlets, and it seems the souvenir was designed explicitly for Starbucks Dewata Coffee Sanctuary.

Media Room

Adjacent to the souvenir area, there is a room named Media Room. When you enter the Media Room area, you will get an experience you don’t usually find in a coffee shop. You find interactive media through large and medium-sized monitors in the media room area.

Under the monitor screen, you will find a button resembling raw coffee beans. By pressing and dragging the button, you will see the coffee-making processes from the monitor screen, such as planting, processing, roasting, and sending coffee.

The Second Floor

You can access the second floor with a very detailed staircase design. Also, you access the second floor with an elevator, and two elevators are available. After entering the second floor, you will see many seats and tables. However, what caught my attention was that the ceiling was made from straw, similar to the roof of a traditional Balinese house.

Based on my experience, entering an authentic Balinese house that uses a thatched roof, the room will feel relaxed even though it doesn’t use air conditioning. Also, the aroma of the room feels unique. However, using a thatched roof requires routine maintenance at a high cost.

Farmer Support Center

Still, on the second floor, adjacent to the customer’s seating area, there is a room called the Farmer Support Center. Inside the Farmer Support Center, you will find walls made from traditional woven rattan. Also, you will see a vertical monitor screen with a photo display of coffee farmers. Moreover, a projector screen displays a video of coffee farmers who supply coffee from Indonesia to Starbucks outlets worldwide.

Nursery Room

Still, on the second floor, there is a room named Nursery. When I entered the Nursery room, I only saw seeds of coffee beans in the greenhouse room.

Outdoor Seating Area Biggest Starbucks in Bali

Accessible from the second floor is an outdoor area with a unique interior design and a fantastic roof design. The seat also offers a unique design made of woven rattan. I saw this outdoor seating area occupied by many visitors because I came during sunset. So visitors do not feel the heat sitting in the outside area.

Menu & Prices Of Southeast Asia’s Largest Starbucks

After I explored the Starbucks Dewata Coffee Sanctuary interior, I got a new, distinctive experience from other Starbucks outlets. Everything looks unique, and I have never imagined there would be a coffee shop that has a design like a luxury hotel or restaurant.

Then what about the menu choices, coffee flavors, and prices offered by Starbucks Dewata Coffee Sanctuary? Is it the same menu as other Starbucks outlets in Bali?

Visiting Bali Starbucks Dewata, I want a different experience in enjoying coffee. Therefore, I didn’t order a Starbucks coffee menu that I could get from regular Starbucks outlets. According to Barista, the coffee menu only available at Starbucks Dewata Bali and not at other Starbucks outlets is Ice Reserve and Caffe Fredo.

Menu Ice Reserve Caffe Fredo

So, I decided to order a grande-size Ice Reserve Caffe Fredo menu. Ice Reserve Caffe Fredo is an espresso with creamy cold milk and one cookie.

Coffee Experience & Taste

Before making Ice Reserve Caffe Fredo, the Barista asked me what coffee I wanted. I asked the Barista; I wanted the Ice Reserve Caffe Fredo utilizing a mixture of Kenyan coffee & Guatemalan coffee (micro blend).

When serving the Ice Reserve Caffe Fredo, the Barista advised me to drink Ice Reserve Caffe Fredo straight from the glass without using a straw. However, I did not follow Barista’s advice.

I tasted the foam first, which was very soft with less milk taste. Then, I took a straw from my child’s drink to taste coffee without mixing the milk. The flavor of Ice Reserve Caffe Fredo is delicious, with a less bitter and sour taste. I also feel that there is a slight syrup flavor, and it seems the syrup is made from palm sugar, but if you don’t focus, you won’t taste the palm sugar syrup.

My Wife & Children’s Menu Order

Whereas my wife and children ordered coffee at the Core Bar, my wife ordered a Vanilla Cream Frappuccino Blend, with additional caramel topping, with a grande size. My children ordered two servings, Vanilla Cream Frappuccino Blend blend with Oreo Chip and the format in grande.

Out of curiosity, I asked my wife for permission to taste the Vanilla Cream Frappuccino Blend with the Caramel topping she ordered. The vanilla flavor and coffee mixture are evenly mixed, so no dominant taste exists. After swallowing, the milk taste appears even though it is not strong.

Opening Hours & Best Times To Have A Visit

Before I visited Starbucks Dewata Coffee Sanctuary, I was looking for information about opening times as usual. Starbucks Dewata Bali is open daily from 08:00 – 23:00. Based on a friend’s advice, I was asked to visit on weekdays and avoid Saturdays and Sundays. Due to the weekend, Starbucks Dewata Coffee Sanctuary is crowded with visitors.

I recommend the best time to visit the most significant Starbucks outlet in Bali at night, around 6:30 p.m. You will be able to see the lighting design of Starbucks Dewata Reserve.
