The name Pasih Uug (Balinese language), when translated into English, means Broken beach. Therefore, international tourists call Pasih Uug as Broken Beach Nusa Penida.
Why Is It Called Broken Beach?
This beach calls Broken Beach because there is a large hole in the bay wall that enables seawater to rush in and out of the bay wall. This hollow wall of the bay is due to the abrasion of the bay wall for decades. Due to the bay wall perforated by abrasion, local people gave it the name Pasih Uug, aka Broken Beach.
